Two Mississippi Museums.

While working with the WK Kellogg Foundation (WKKF), we had the unique opportunity to document the opening of the nations first state-operated civil rights museum. Civil Rights leaders, along with other dignitaries, from Mississippi and around the nation were in attendance. The goal of this project was to document the momentous opening of The Two Mississippi Museums, and reflect the impact on of this event on both the state of Mississippi and country as a whole.

Going into the project our mindset was not the standard "event capture" but to pay homage, through imagery, to the Civil Rights movement in decades past and present as well as the history being created in the very moments we spent there. Our hope is that the images documented will allow for these moments of history to live on for the generation to come.
