Root, root, root for the home team
As a child, I suffered.
The Tigers were my mom's team, and many a day was spent listening to the AM radio while Al Kaline and George Kell called games that ultimately ended in defeat.
In college, a sudden turn of events as the Tigers hired Jim Leland and what is known as a "paradigm shift" occurred. The Tigers were actually good.
My world was never the same.
Fast forward a few years and we are in the throes of running a story company and building relationships with organizations large and small. Out of the blue, I get a phone call from a filmmaker who worked for the Detroit Tigers. We had become friends when he found our documentary, "The Michigan Beer Film" on Kickstarter.
Then he said the words that forever changed my life.
"Do you want to come shoot a Tigers game?"
Yes. Yes, I do.
From there we were able to film for the Derek Jeter commemorative piece, to play at his final home game.
